How We’re Helping NOW
There’s no place like home for the holidays, but many of Central Texas’ most vulnerable are forced to spend them in the company of strangers. While we can’t fulfill their biggest wish — to be home — we can do the next best thing — spread joy and show them the true magic of the season!
This year will be Cordonate’s seventh to “adopt” over 200 children in foster care and ask each one to fill out a wishlist. Our army of volunteers then joyfully shops and wraps gifts to put under our giant Christmas tree at a HUGE magical party with snow falling from the sky, hot chocolate bar, s’mores station, and live appearances by the Grinch and Santa!
As the evening winds down, foster families leave with arms full of gifts to put under their own Christmas trees — every present specifically purchased to make their foster child’s wishlist dreams come true!
How We Helped After the Floods
In Kerr County, the devastation from the July 4-7 floods has been nothing short of catastrophic — with at least 134 lives lost in the area, including 37 children, and more than 100 still missing.
Yet, amid this heartache, a powerful truth keeps shining through: “Many Hands Make Light Work.”
When we put out the call, Cordonate’s army of supporters answered and added their numbers to the over 2,100 responders from across the nation — including firefighters from Mexico — to search, rescue, and begin the long, tough cleanup.
Then areas north of Austin were severely impacted too, so the following week we tackled the area around Hope House in Liberty Hill — a special place that provides a loving home for 15 profoundly disabled children, ages 6-16.
The work in all these areas is far from done. We still need manpower, heavy equipment to clear debris and damaged infrastructure, and financial support to help our neighbors heal and rebuild their lives.
Together — with every pair of hands, every dollar, and every voice — we helped impacted areas move from tragedy toward hope and healing.

It's easy to have your heart strings tugged on by a precious 3-year old whose only wish for Christmas is a stuffed teddy bear and a candy cane.
But what about the kids aging out of the foster care system and facing a world of uncertainty all on their own?
This young woman shot for the moon when filling out her wish list and said the only thing she really needed was a car to get to school and work. Cordonate took on the challenge and our donors answered the call.
The look on her face says it all.
